David was my great uncle.
Ernest A Shrubsole is standing in the middle with two of his colleagues in this photo.
Ernest was in the Flying Corps in 1917 and transferred to the
Royal Army Service Corps (Motor Transport) until 1921. He left with rank of sergeant.
He then worked at Davis & Davis at Brockman Garage in Folkestone.
This photo was taken in 1901 on his wedding day.
My thanks to a Mary, my second cousin, for letting me have this photograph.
My first cousins once removed
This photo is of Frederick William John Shrubsole (standing), in the uniform of the Australian infantry, with his brother Arthur Shrubsole, in the uniform of the Royal London Artillery. The photo was taken in 1916 whilst on leave in Cheriton, Nr. Folkestone, Kent.
My thanks to my second cousin Norman Shrubsole for this photograph.
This photo was probably taken around 1929/30.
It shows George Henry Shrubsole with two of the horses that he worked with and looked after whilst living and working on Crowplain and Gain Hill Farms at Collier Street in Kent.
My thanks to John Smith, his grandson, for letting me have this and other photos of the family.
