Old Rectory House,
MONKS HORTON, KENT

There was no resident vicar at times in Monks Horton, so the Rectory was presumably let out, as some of my family were living there in 1881.  Old Rectory House was next to Horton Court.  This photograph was taken about 1941 by Peter Davies' grandfather, when it looked very much as it would have done in the 1880's.   Peter very kindly sent me a copy of the photograph as well as being helpful in guiding me in my next steps of research.

The Lift,

The Leas, Folkestone, Kent

The first lift was opened in 1885 and the second in 1890.  There is still one working lift there now.

House at the Fishmarket Folkestone

The Fishmarket at Folkestone was a lively place in it's heyday.

This is a picture of some houses there, I would guess in the 1800's.
