1914 STAR
Instituted in 1917 for service ashore in France & Flanders between 5th August and 22nd November 1914. In 1919 a clasp bearing the above dates was authorised and given to those individuals who had actually been under fire between the prescribed dates.
1914/15 STAR
Authorised in 1918 the 1914/15 Star was awarded to those individuals who saw service in France & Flanders from 23 November 1914 to 31 December 1915, and to those individuals who saw service in any other operational theatre from 5th August 1914 to 31 December 1915.

The Distinguished Conduct Medal was instituted by Royal Warrant on 4 December 1854, during the Crimean War, as an award to Warrant Officers, Non-
ARMY LONG SERVICE & GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL
The Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal was instituted by King William IV in 1830. The medal remained in use for 100 years, until it was replaced by the Medal for Long Service and Good Conduct (Military) in 1930. During that time the reverse of the medal remained virtually unchanged, while the design of the obverse was altered during the reigns of Queen Victoria, King Edward VII and King George V.
